3.30pm to 6.30pm
On the shortest day and longest night, friends of Mirramu are invited to celebrate the returning of the light with a bonfire and circle dances, followed by some performances and a candle lighting ceremony in the studio.

Then join us for supper by the fire in the main house. Please bring a plate to share.
Since prehistory, the winter, or hibernal solstice has been a significant time of year in many cultures and has been marked by festivals and rites. In parts of Europe it was seen as the symbolic death and rebirth of the Sun… Some ancient monuments such as Newgrange, Stonehenge, and Cahokia Woodhenge are aligned with the sunrise or sunset on the winter solstice.
