Program January to May 2026

Mirramu is delighted to invite participants to the first two programs for 2026:

  • Prelude Weekend Retreat and
  • Rolling In Nature Site specific Dance Film Workshop.

21 and 22 February 2026 – Preludeawakening creative practice through mindfulness and play

Set early in the year, this two-day workshop offers an opportunity to playfully challenge and explore your creative mind before the hard work of the year begins.

With a focus on the intersection between creative practice and mindfulness you will experience workshops from visual artist Anthea da Silva, poet Kathy Kituai and movement artists Viv Rogis & Elizabeth Cameron Dalman.

The program is suitable for all levels of experience, from beginner to expert. We hope you can join us at Mirramu Creative Arts Centre to carve out a moment to delve into process without judgement and find your joy to carry forward into 2026.

11-14 April 2026 – Rolling In Nature

Inspired by Dr. Elizabeth Dalman OAM CdOAL, her philosophy and practices of Dance in Nature, Peng Hsiao-yin and William Lü will combine their teaching experience of dance-film making and site-specific Dance in Nature to guide the artists and students in dance or film disciplines.

Participants will explore and experiment in dance film making in the natural environment of Mirramu Creative Arts Centre, set beside the ancient Weereewa/Lake George.

You’ll learn how to choreograph for the camera, use basic filmmaking techniques and create your own dance film.

Whether you’re a beginner looking for a starting point or an experienced filmmaker ready to push your boundaries, this workshop offers a space to explore, experiment, and refine your craft.

In the final years of his life, Jan Dalman carefully selected what he felt were the most potent, evocative and expressive photographs he’d taken of Marceau from the wings during performances in Australia. His great wish was to have a book published to honour his friend Marcel, who had passed away before him in 2007.

out of silence – Marcel Marceau by Jan Dalman is the realisation of this dream.

the photographic exhibition runs from 11 January – 24 February 2019.
