Four Elements Festival

14 – 24 March The Four Elements Festival saw more than 30 visitors from around Australia and the world at Mirramu for 11 days of dance and movement workshops.

Guest tutors Kyoko Sato from Japan and Jyh Shyong Wong from Malaysia led workshops in Mobius Kiryuho and contemporary dance respectively. Local teacher Melissa Pollard presented some Dru Yoga classes. Visual artists Ian Robertson and Kerry McInnis spent some time working on and around the lake on new works and a dance in schools program engaged students from Bungendore and Tarago Public Schools in learning and creating dance works with Janine Proost.

The festival culminated in a concert at the Bungendore School hall with guest performers including The Blamey Street Band, Three’s a Crowd, cabaret artiste Anya Anastasia, A Chorus of Women, Salsabor, the Canberra Mandolin Orchestra, MAD Theater from Taiwan and Maypole dancing.
